Tax Senior Manager –

We are hiring a fulltime Tax Senior Manager to help us take Baldridge Financial to the next level.

Our practice is different from other CPA firms – business is booming, and we are growing faster than we can handle. We limit the number of clients and look for high margins.

Today we are a firm of 9, with one Partner/Owner of the firm who you will report to directly. You will have 2 accountants and 2 bookkeepers reporting to you. We have unlimited growth opportunities, and we can pick and choose who we work with.

Serving our clients is special, as they are high net worth individuals and business owners, and we work to deliver beyond the typical ‘reactive accountant’ stereotype. Beyond being “Just a CPA Firm”, we serve our clients in a fractional family office capacity, providing full service financial planning advice and bookkeeping and back office solutions for our clients.

You will be the Operations Manager of the firm, and the initial responsibilities will be managing production and ensuring overall work quality. The buck will stop with you and you will be expected to review and sign tax returns.

We need someone to come in and be able to be the right-hand as we grow the business. This position will be responsible for maintaining KPIs around workflow capacity, client turnaround and stakeholder satisfaction.

You will be able to help design the systems we use to build out the Profit Factory of the firm, and help hire and train the people that will run the systems. You won’t be micromanaged, and will be allowed to make choices to help you do the work.

You will also have the opportunity to make great money with HUGE upside potential, including a path to partnership. This should not be a 70 hour/week job. We expect you to be able to manage your own schedule.

This is a remote hybrid role – you will primarily work from home and be expected to be in the Houston office on Mondays for a meeting, if you live in the Houston area.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven leadership abilities

  • Ability to break the big picture into small chunks and hold team accountable

  • Understands how to work with clients, and deliver them what they want

  • Tech savvy (understands or can learn how to use new tools) We use Lacerte, Quickbooks, etc., but are also using no code solutions like Airtable and Notion to organize our workflow.

Required experience:

  • CPA (required)

  • Manager level at a small or large firm

  • Has signed tax returns and managed staff
